Luxury Hair Care with Marula Oil

It was about a month after I bleached all my hair off that the lovely ladies at Salon Success signed me up to their Styling Society blogger community and saved my life. They distribute some seriously beautiful hair products and lucky me gets to try them out and review them for you via Style Rarebit. One of the main brands they work with is Paul Mitchell and after trying out a lot of his products I have recently become a bit of a die hard fan. If you missed my curling iron review a few months ago you seriously need to catch up. That tool has changed the way I style my hair and is the least damaging iron I’ve ever used.

The range I want to talk about today though is my favourite of all his ranges. These are the super luxurious Marula Oil products. I love them not just because they work so well and make a massive difference to the condition of my hair but also because the packaging is just so bloody beautiful. I’m going to pop a little description from the Paul Mitchell website below to give you some background.

Versatile marula oil comes from the fruit of the marula tree, a vital resource for the people of southern and eastern Africa. The marula oil fruit is wild-harvested by African women’s collectives who are educated on safe practices, provided traceability training and paid fair trade wages. Marula oil helps create a sustainable economy for women and their families.”

cardiff beauty bloggerI’m going to talk about these in the order I use them, so from wet hair to a finished style to give you a better sense of the products. I start with the Style Extending Primer, this provides heat protection before I begin blow drying and gives my hair that healthy, shiny finish. It smells so good and it’s a lovely light spray which doesn’t weigh it down or make it greasy. I also add some of the Treatment Oil to my wet hair too, I have really dry ends and lots of fly aways, so this helps to smooth everything down and add moisture.  After blow drying I like to work the 3-in-1 Styling Cream throughout the lengths of my hair to make it look super sleek and healthy. This is my number one favourite product and is the most effective if you want a really smooth finish. I also like to have another spritz of the Style Extending Primer before curling my hair too, so that I get an extra boost of heat protection. After curling I use the Perfecting Hairspray to hold the style. It has the same gorgeous scent as the rest of the products and is really lightweight giving you great hold but without the sticky feeling.

cardiff beauty bloggerThese have fast become my favourite haircare products and I’ve really loved creating a new routine with them. If you have thin, dry hair like mine I couldn’t recommend them more and the scent alone is enough to make them worth while. The 3 in 1 styling cream sounds really good! I’v been meaning to use a similar product, but I worry that I’ll end up using too much and my hair will be a sticky mess xx
